My Inspiration Board

I have gotten EXTREMELY addicted to design blogs. Everything from how to decorate, organize, and DIY projects blogs. They are so fun to read, and they have taught me so much stuff already. I love all of the DIY projects that you can do for so cheap! I have also learned when coming to decorating and throwing parties, it's really easy to make up an inspiration board of what you want your party to look like so you can go off that. My bestfriend Whitney's sister, Erica (also a very good friend of mine) is pregnant!! As soon as we found out she was going to have a baby, Whitney and I immediately started planning the baby shower. Erica will be finding out tomorrow what the sex is going to be. But since Whitney and I are in such a hurry to plan this shower, we have already came up with a theme that will fit either a boy or a girl! I got all of the pictures off design blogs to help create an inspiration board!

The theme is VINTAGE! Well actually it's called "nesting". I got almost my entire inspiration board pictuers off of http://www.pepperdesignblog.com/ . I absolutely love Morgan! The first time I took a look at her blog, I immediately was hooked. I would definitely go check her out. Here is my inspiration board:

We are going to try to do DIY as much as possible. As you can see in the pictures, there are lots of candles, plates, mason jars, picture frames that just lay around your house. So i thought this would be the perfect baby shower. I am also going to make some tissue paper pom poms to hang up above the cake table. and maybe use some for centerpieces.

I am so excited about this baby shower I can hardly stand it!! I'll be giving more details as we plan more. I just thought I would share the theme with everyone! Tell me what you think!!

What would you do with my mantel?

We are still working on the new house. Slowly but surely. I love decorating, throwing parties for friends, and anything crafty!! But since we have moved into a new house that is very country, it's so hard to decorate my mantel! Our living room walls is this beautiful wood that still looks like new, even though the house was built back in the war days. So what would you do to this mantel? Give me any suggestions!

I dont think the pictures go together, and I dont really like my dvd player and stuff on top. There are dvd's and book on that very bottom shelf now, but I have a dvd holder that i'm about to put those in. So what would you do to spruce up this mantel? Put pictures on the walls? Move things? Add vases? Anything?!
