Conversations with Caden

So I have been gone all weekend to a Women of Faith conference! If you dont know what that is, look it up! It is A-MAZING! this is my 3rd year in a row to go, and hope I dont miss any for the rest of my life! Lance is gone to Kansas turkey hunting so i'm staying with his family. I dont like staying at home by myself, especially at a new house. Plus, its a really old house so it creaks in the middle of the night, which is even more scary. lol. I've been there all week, so thats why there are no pictures of the house up yet.  :( i'm sorry. Once i get home, i'll clean the house (ya know, because i'm not putting pictures of a dirty house on my blog) then post them! Pinky Promise!!

Caden learned how to ride his horse (its actually a very large pony) all by himself yesterday! It was so fun watching him learn!! I wanted to download the pictures on my computer today at work so I could post them, but my computer doesn't take memory cards. I'll definately have to get them up soon! They are so awesome! He's such a little cowboy!

I also wanted to tell you some of the conversations Caden and I had yesterday. It's so funny some of the things kids say!!!

Me: "How was school today?"
Caden: "Good, I got along with EVERY kid today!"


Me: "Want a snowcone for behaving at school today?"
Caden: "Oh yes! I love cold snocones!"
*We get up to the snocone place*
Me: "What kind would you like?"
Caden: "Blue please"
Me: "Ok, what kind of blue? They have bubblegum blue? Would you like that?"
Caden: "No. Just blue."
Me: "Oh. Ok. Blue it is."

*Caden sitting in the backseat as I take him home*
Caden: "Kasey, did you know I had a girlfriend?"
Me: "Um, no I didnt"
Caden: "Yep. But she's dead now. *he is being totally serious*
Me: *a little freaked out* "Oh wow. Um, what happened?"
Caden: "Oh, someone shot her. They're in jail now. And she's in heaven."
Me: "Well i'm glad their in jail now, and that she is in heaven."
Caden: "Yea, me to. Did you know grandma ann has been in heaven before?"
    *our church put on a play of heaven and hell, and his grandma was an angel in heaven, and he remembers it, so thats what he is talking about*.
Me: "well she was in heaven at church, but not real heaven. You have to actually pass away & be a christian to go to heaven. You have to accept Jesus into your heart".
Caden: *thinking for a minute* "I've got Jesus in my heart!!"

A busy weekend!

Boy, did I have a busy weekend! My wonderful mother drove 6 1/2 hours to my house friday afternoon, to stay the weekend so she could help me get my house together. We are slowly but surely getting things in order! We woke up saturday morning around 8, and worked til the sun went down! We moved tons of stuff out to a storage building, rearranged alot of things, organized, washed lots of clothes, cleaned, cooked, and just hung out together. It is soooo nice having my house put together now! The only thing we have left to do is paint Caden's room and paint my bathroom. I will then be able to move all of caden's things to his room from the guest bedroom and be able to put my office/study up! I can't wait to get organized in my office/study room! I really wanted to wait until I had my bathroom done to take pictures to post on here, but I think i'm going to go ahead and take pictures of the rest of the house to show you all! I haven't bought curtains for the living or our bedroom yet, and i'm dying to! As soon as the sun is up, we are up because it's so bright in our bedroom! So, stay tuned for pictures to come! I can't wait to show you guys!

Jessica Simpson on Marie Claire Cover

As soon as I heard about Jessica Simpson posing au naturel on the cover of Marie Claire, I knew I was going to have to post about it. I have always loved Jessica Simpson. Everything from her tv show with Nick, to her perfume Fancy (which i wear religiously). I love how she is just her, and she doesnt care what anyone thinks. She has had so many critics on her about her weight and she has stuck strong. Jessica and her best friends Ken and Cacee has a show out right now Price of Beauty. I LOVE it! Even though I have missed a couple episodes because I dont have cable in the new house yet, I have enjoyed her first few. I love how she is traveling the world and learning about beauty in other countries, the positive and negative sides of beauty. My heart broke on the paris episode when the 80 lb model. She looked like she was just deteriating (sp?). It was so sad!!

Then, Jessica decided to pose on the cover of Marie Claire, with NO makeup, and NO airbrushing! Of course she had her bff there to do her hair but supposedly it was air dried and thrown back in a pony tail. But I think it takes guts to pose natural on the cover of a very popular magazine, when she knows she is going to have critics all over her! I think she is absolutely beautiful in the picture. It shows all her flaws (which is none to me) compared to those little models out there.

I think she is a great role model out there for a lot of girls. For them to see it's okay to be big busted. It's okay to be a little bigger in the booty and hips and arm and face! That your still beautiful!

One of my favorite quotes she wrote in the magazine is “I don’t have anything to prove anymore,” the 29-year-old singer shared. “What other people think of me is not my business.”

She also said that she feels most sexy when she has long wavy hair flowing down her back. And that she loves to air dry her hair, but there are a lot of times where she wont wash her hair until it smells. I thought that was HILARIOUS! She is also coming out with a new "A beautiful me" which encourages young to feel comfortable in their own skin. I'm not sure if its another tv series or a book or what. But I know it will be great!!



I just had to post about this, because I think what Jessica is doing, is so great in a lot of ways!!

Five Question Friday

It's Friday! This week has been a crazy one for me! I had a big Anatomy and Physiology Lab test, so hopefully I ace'd it!! My mom is coming in tonight from Alabama to help me finish up the house! I know i've told everyone like 10 times already that i'll have before and after pictures up of the house, but hopefully if we get everything done this weekend, i'll be able to take pictures and post them!! So keep a look out!!

1. What words do you use on your blog/online that you don't use in real life?

That would be lol. I mean when you talking with someone, do you really say "LOL". um, no.
I could totally see it, "Oh girl, you are so funny! You just make me LOL!" hahaha!!

2. Do you still write checks?
Every once in a while. I like to have them on hand just in case I need them. But i'm actually out of checks right now. But, I dont want to spend the money to get more. lol. But I like to have them though.

3. Who was your favorite President and why?
I don't think I have a favorite president. I'm not into politics that much so I really don't know much. But I did have to do a paper on Bill Clinton, and doing research, I found out A LOT about Bill Clinton. Yes, he is from the same state as me (Arkansas). And even though he got caught messing around with a 19 year old, he did a lot of great things for this country. Especially with the education system. So, I have to give him props for that!

4. Are you a yeller?
Do I have to admit this? Sadly, yes. I'm a loud person all together! When i'm just talking to someone, i'm yelling. lol. But when I do get upset or frustrated, I start to yell. Lance, on the other hand, does NOT yell and does not allow me to yell either. He will set me straight quick if I start yelling. lol. Which i'm glad because it has helped me a lot with my yelling.

5. Have you ever dumpster dived?
One time! I remember I was in Jr High. I accidently lost like 10 bucks in the garbage when i was throwing away my lunch. So I had to dig through the garbage that kids were throwing their leftover lunches in. Ew!!!

1. Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

I think I would want Reese Witherspoon. She played so good in Sweet Home Alabama. Just love her. I think she could act out my life really good!
Oh- and did you know that Reese is actually playing The Pionner Woman's role in her new movie?! Yes The Pioneer Woman is getting a movie made about her!!!

2. Did you ever go to summer camp?
Nope. Just mission trips during the summer. I remember I went to Biloxi, MS after hurricane Katrina hit. It was so sad. But we did a lot of work..and went home feeling great about our mission!

3. What sends you running and screaming in the other direction?
SNAKES!!! i'm getting chills just thinking about it. I will DEFINTELY run and scream the other direction if I see one!

4. What is something you do that drives your spouse nuts?
Well I dont have a spouse, but what drives my boyfriend, Lance, nuts is probably... getting makeup powder all over the sink. lol. I use loose powder and it always falls all over the sink. But when he shaves and gets nasty hair all over the sink, drives me nuts! So we're even. lol
5. What is currently your favorite song?
I think i'm going to have to go Rihanna - Rude Boy. It's not that pleasant of a song, but its so fun to dance to and just listen to. So I would defintely have to say that!

I GOT ACCEPTED!!

INTO THE RADIOLOGY PROGRAM!! WHOO HOO! you have no IDEA how excited i am! i have been working on this for 2 years trying to get my pre-recs and such. I was so nervous all morning! There were 5 of us girls that applied from just my town (the school is 45 mins away). They all received their letters this morning and mine didnt show up! I about died! so i went to the post office and they looked in the pile for me for like 7 mins! The lady told me she would call me if it showed up..and not kiddin...10 minutes later she called!! So..say hello to the next x-ray tech!!!!

Five Question Friday

Wow, it seems like FOREVER since i've posted something! But you know, I hardly ever miss Five Question Friday ;). We are in our new house, but it is NOT finished. And it's really bugging me too. Lance still has his tools everywhere in the kitchen, the bathroom is not painted, caden's room is not finished, and the kitchen floor is not done. But our bedroom, and the living room are done! Lance is working on the house today, and hopefully i'll be able to get everything unpacked this weekend, so pictures of the house will be up soon! I hope! But for now, here is a little preview of our new "little country home"!

Now back to Five Question Friday!
1. Do you sing out loud in the car when you're driving?

It depends on my mood that day! But most of the time, i'm singin as loud as i can. And even bustin' a couple of moves every now and then. Especially if a girlfriend is with me, then it's ALLL OVA' WITH! I pray for you if you ever see me and a friend going down the road.

2. What would you never be caught doing?
I'm going to skip this question, b/c i have no idea. lol

3. Will you go #2 in a public restroom?
Heck no! unless it was defintely an emergency, which sometimes I have, and there are a few times i've had to go #2 in walmart. I can't stand it. I feel all gross, plus I have this weird thing where I dont let anyone see me using #2! I like my privacy!

4. Have you ever broken a bone?
Nope :). I've bruised the bone in my knee, and spranged a few ankles. But never have broken a bone. And I hope I never have to either! My sister on the other hand is different. When she was six (yes age six) my dad was trying to teach her how to do a back flip off the swing set and she fell and broke her elbow. The doctors thought her arm would never grow again, but it did!!!

5. Do you prefer cooking or baking?
baking all the way! I love baking anything. I'm really trying to learn how to cook better, but I just enjoy baking! I mean, I even made the rainbow cake! And I had a blast doing it!!
